Dirk Brinkman is the Founder & Senior Advisor of Brinkman Group. Since 1970, Dirk has been a core innovator of operational practices and policy in reforestation, ecosystem restoration, First Nations resource management, conservation and climate solutions in Canada, the US and the tropics.
He has published over one hundred articles and editorials and contributed to and conducted many workshops and working committees in forestry, climate and ecosystem management areas, including being a lead researcher for the FFESC project from 2010-2012 and co-author of the Credible Conservation Offsets for Natural Areas in British Columbia: Technical Report, 2011.
Dirk’s work has been recognized with a number of other prestigious awards, including the Canada Forestry Achievement Award and an honourary membership to the Association of BC Forest Professionals. He acted as a Director to the HEDC Natural Resources Board and to the Heiltsuk Resource Operations Board from 2015-2022 and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the non-profit reforestation organization Forest Ontario.
Dirk is also the co-founder and Director of The Earth Partners LP, which specializes in large-scale forest and ecosystem restoration conservation biomass projects in the US.
