Dawn Brinkman is the General Manager of Brinkman Group and joined the Board as a Director in 2021. Her passion for collaborative problem solving, and the intersection of ecosystem services and community resilience, has led her to pursue diverse opportunities in Canada and internationally. Holding a BSc with Honours in Global Resource Systems from the University of British Columbia, she has continued her professional development, studying HR Management and Conflict Resolution.
Dawn started her career in reforestation as a tree planter and field manager. Her years as a Project Manager of remote reforestation camps, with complex specifications and multi-stakeholder engagement, launched a passion for collaborative landscape-level problem-solving. Dawn transitioned her experience in Project Management to serve as a Logistician supporting field hospitals with Medicines Sans Frontiers (Doctors without Borders) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She later worked as a Community Liaison in Forestry Partnerships with First Nations in the Pacific Northwest.
After taking some time off to start a family, Dawn was inspired by the opportunity to change forest value structures and was the founding Program Director of Forest Foods Ltd. In her role as Program Director, she facilitated in-community, and on-the-ground, Indigenous Guardian and Emergency Land Management programming with First Nations throughout BC.
Never far from the mountains, Dawn loves skiing, hiking, and foraging with friends and her two young children Rowan and Fenna
