HBO’s documentary “Trees and Other Entanglements” by filmmaker Irene Taylor embarks on an exploration into the intertwined lives of trees and humans, revealing the deep connections and attachments that bind us to them.

Amongst the stories chosen to emphasize our inextricable connection with trees was that of Brinkman Group founder Dirk Brinkman and his reforestation journey, starting in the 1970s. Throughout the array of narratives in the film, Dirk embodies the essence of Old Growth—what began as a seedling in the 70s has adapted and flourished through storms, recessions, innovation, growth, and renewal and ultimately evolved to become a cornerstone in its field.

While human entanglements with trees shape the storyline, Dirk emerges as a beacon of reciprocity, underscoring the positive generational impact that he has had through Brinkman Group over the years.
