Brinkman Climate is honoured to have our Cheakamus Community Forest Offset Project be the one and only offset project included in the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change (p.22). Many excellent offset projects have been developed across the country in the last fifteen years, reducing emissions and building the low-carbon economy. As provinces like Ontario and Quebec move forward with the development of offset systems under their cap and trade programs, we look forward to further growth in uptake of this tool.

The Pan-Canadian framework is the federal plan developed with the provinces and territories in consultation with Indigenous peoples to meet our emissions reduction target and grow the economy. The plan aims to drive innovation and growth - increase technology development and adoption to ensure Canadian businesses are competitive in the global low-carbon market.
